Previously, treatment required a soft tissue graft, quite an involved process that required a lot of recovery. Now all that has changed.
The Pinhole Surgical Technique is a real innovation. Invented and patented by John Chao, DDS, MADG, the procedure does away with invasive dental surgery. Instead, it uses special needles and fine instruments to make tiny holes in the gum. We then work from within that hole, negating the need for any incisions or sutures.
This advance is significant in that the pinhole is the only opening we need to make. Everything else can be done inside that tiny hole with some specialist tools. The results speak for themselves. Best of all, rather than taking a few days to recover, it takes only an 24 hours for the pinhole to close.
